Two successful dressage outings to Summerhouse and West Wilts

We have had two successful trips out to dressage competitions. Last Friday we were at Summerhouse with Woody, Ollie and Tomi. Woody was competing in his first elementary and was fantastic, and it was lovely to be rewarded with over 69% and a win. Ollie did both elementary classes, scored 65 and 68% finishing 3rd in [...]

Georgie seeks New Horses and Owners for the 2011 Season.

Do you have a talented horse that you want to put with one of Britains Up and Coming Young Event Riders?
Georgie has been on Junior and Young Rider Europeans teams 4 years running, winning a silver and two gold medals. Now coming into her 2nd year as a senior rider, she is looking for new [...]

Addington Arena ODE

Yesterday we were at Addington, doing an arena ODE. I took Leacourt Master Doubt (Dougal) Bromsden Orlando (Andy) and Lucullus (Luca). It was a great competition and very educational. We started with a dressage test, then jumped a round on XC type fences in the outdoor school, and then jumped a round on show jumps [...]

Summerhouse dressage and Hartpury BSJA

We have had 2 outings this week. On Friday I took, Barney, Ollie, Rocky and Woody to Summerhouse. Woody and Rocky were competing in a Novice, they were both fantastic. Woody scored just under 69% and finished 4th and Rocky just behind on 67%. Ollie and Barney were then in a Medium. Ollie was a [...]

Summerhouse Eventers Challenge

Today we went to summerhouse for the ‘Eventers Challenge’
Dougal and Andy we competing in the 70 and 80cms class. You jumped seven show jump fences and then went straight into a timed XC section, of natural/XC type fences. Andy jumped a super double clear to finish 2nd and Dougal was 3rd in the first class. In [...]

27th February 2010 – JAS final at Addington

I went to the JAS final at addington. I had quite a successful day. I had Monkey and Bouncer in the PN. Bouncer was double clear with a style mark of 3. He had 2 time faults but it was because it was quite tight in there for a big horse, but I was very [...]

World Class/Jumping at Summerhouse

We went to Summerhouse today with Ollie, Woody, Tino and Bouncer. It was a BSJA show but also a world class day, so Sarah and Peter were there with their watchful eye and our rounds were also videoed so were can watch it back. The boys were fab. I have decided to jump a bit [...]

6th February 2010 – JAS West Wilts

Today I went to West Wilts for another day of JAS competitions this time with Bouncer, Monkey and Woody.
Bouncer and Monkey were HC in the Intro. Bouncer was very good, unlike his rider who added a fence and got eliminated. Fortunately I was only HC so we were able to laugh about it.
Monkey was very [...]

2nd Feb 2010 – World Class training at the Unicorn

Monday and  Tuesday I went to world class training at the Unicorn. I took Woody, Ollie and Tino and they had one or two dressage lessons a day and really improved over the two days.
Woody was very tired by the end but had worked hard and learnt a lot.
Off to JAS at West Wilts on [...]

30th January – First Outing of 2010

I took Ollie, Woody and Tino to the JAS competition at Hartpury. Neither of the horses had jumped in a JAS competition before, so their eyes were popping out of their heads a little but coped very well.
Woody was competing in the BE100 and the Novice, he had a pole in the BE100 and a [...]

Snow snow and more snow!!

There’s not really a lot to report due to this delightful snow that won’t seem to leave us alone. We did actually manage to take the horses to summerhouse for some clear round jumping on the 30th December. I took, Woody, Ollie, Tino and Flo. They all jumped well, they were very fresh though! I [...]

A Great Christmas and New Year

Georgie Spence

This year year we had Christmas at home, whereas normally we have it next door at my Granny and Grandad’s house. It was just the usual really. Up normal time, do horses, open pressies, have lunch and open some more pressies. Then we finish off the horses, and go back inside and watch films! But [...]

A Fantastic Olympia

For the last few years ‘Team Spence’ has taken a double box at Olympia, kindly part funded by Mapei, for my owners and sponsors. It is a fantastic evening and great for new and old owners/sponsors to meet, and to generally have a ‘change of scenery’ but still a horsey evening.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves [...]

A Non Horsey Month in Thailand

Georgie Spence

After the horses last events they all went on hoilday. Most of the owners horses go home to rest in a field and my horses relax with me. I have never been a fan of just shoes off and thrown out. Ours either stay out at night and are in during the day or vice [...]

Aldon International

I was back at Aldon for my last event of the season, I took Kirk to do the PN 3 day event and Milo was doing his first CCI*. Kirk did a lovely test, but was a little bit fresh into some of his transitions and scored 34.5. Milo was very good, he scored 51.2 [...]

7th-11th October 2009: Weston Park International

Georgie Spence

At last I have experienced a sunny Weston. It only rained at night and I was tucked up in my warm lorry!
At Weston I was competing Tino and Ollie in their first CCI* and my first since 2006. It was a strange feeling as I was still a little nervous. Maybe just because they are [...]
